BACHELOR OF ARTS

The Da Vinci Program

 

Students are encouraged to make use of SIU ACS European location in the spirit of genuine intellectual curiosity and respect for human accomplishment. The Da Vinci Program is an individualized international studies program with a choice of several concentrations and is designed for students with strong interests in literature, history, fine arts or philosophy.

 
General Core Courses:
 
In fulfilling the requirements of the General Core, a student may opt to fulfill the requirements for the two-year Associate of Arts Degree (see the General Studies or Associate Degree links). The General Core consists of the following:

Two Humanities courses; includes art, art history, literature, philosophy and history (except HIS 101 and HIS 102)

Two courses in either mathematics or science

Two courses in social science; includes sociology, psychology, economics, political science or international relations

Proficiency in a foreign language to intermediate level

Common Area of Study for Da Vinci Program Majors:
 
Ten courses at the 300-400 level to be selected by the student with the approval of the Academic Advisor. These courses should relate to some common theme or historical period and are chosen from the following fields:

Undergraduate Graduation Requirements:
 
Students must earn a minimum of 124 semester credits. All students must complete the General Core courses as described above.
No more than 2 credits in physical education may be included in the 124-credit requirement.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 (C) or above must be earned.
The final 33 credits must be completed in the residence at Schiller International University.
Completion of at least the intermediate level of one foreign language is required.
