Students wishing to develop an insight of two areas of the service industry, perhaps to increase their appeal to potential employers or in preparation to undertake a joint degree, may wish to study a joint Higher Diploma.

  • School & Campus : Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), Caux & Leysin campuses
  • Duration: 2.5 years (15 months of study & 8-12 months internships)
  • Internships: 4-6 months per year
  • Awards: SHMS Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Events Management
  • Start Dates: September / February
  • Admission Requirements: Students must have successfully completed their high school diploma / Min. age: 17 years / TOEFL or IELTS

Progression: After successful completion of the Diploma, students can progress into BA (Hons) Degrees in Hospitality Management or BA (Hons) Degrees in Travel & Tourism Management or BA (Hons) Degrees in Events Management

Paid Internship

Internships offer a unique opportunity to enhance both the acquired practical and language skills as students will normally do their internship either in the French or German speaking part of Switzerland. These skills are highly sought after in the hospitality industry.

  • Paid internship in hotels or restaurants in Switzerland or overseas
  • Monthly salary: CHF 2168 to CHF 2450
  • Deductions for food, accommodation, meals, tax, insurance: appr. CHF 1000 to 1400
