you to enjoy its natural charm and beauty.
Vitznau is an enchanting destination welcoming
visitors from all around the globe.

inhabitants, it offers all of a larger town's normal
conveniences, such as public transportation, post
office, grocery store, pharmacy, hairdressers, hotels,
restaurants & cafes, bank machine, and a variety of
sport shops.

DCT provides students a home away from home. To this
end, the DCT management provides students a recreation
area which is open 24-hours daily, where students can
relax, play video games, watch movies, or just
congregate and meet other students.
Students are permitted to stay at the School during
their vacations between terms, and are able to take all
of their meals, seven days per week, during the term
break at no additional cost.
Washing machines and tumble dryers are available for
your use. Irons and ironing boards are also available.
If you have any dry-cleaning to be done, DCT has an
arrangement with a local dry cleaner who offers students
discount rates.
LIVING AT DCT
DCT provides students with three meals per day during
the week. On weekends and term breaks, students are
provided a prolonged brunch and dinner. We take care
that students with special or religious diets are able
to eat their requirements.
 |
Each end of term, the students and staff of DCT
celebrate a formal "End of Term Party", saying
Congratulations to students who graduate, and
good-bye and good luck to students who leave for
Industry Training. This party also celebrates the
friendships made during the students study period in
Switzerland.
|
These friendships give our
students deeper insights into other cultures and
peoples, and provide invaluable contacts during
graduates future careers.
A number of special functions are held regularly during
the year, during which students can celebrate regional
holidays or religious events.
DCT's STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
 |
From the moment a student is accepted, throughout
his or her studies, and even after finishing a
course of studies, DCT staff are available to
provide a wide range of assistance at all stages in
a student's time with DCT.
While much of the support that DCT provides is
students is academic in nature – for example the
special help with English available (see the link on
the left), or the regular weekly "Office Hours"
which every teacher schedules only for the purpose
of meeting with students who might have questions or
difficulties in their classes – DCT also offers
support in non-academic areas as well.
|
If you are a new student, you should
arrive in Switzerland on the Thursday, Friday or
Saturday before your course starts. This will help you
to be rested and ready for a concentrated course which
starts with an information session on Sunday after
brunch.
When you arrive at Zurich airport, pass through the
passport control, and collect your luggage, you will
then pass through Swiss customs. On the other side of
the customs area, you will see the representatives of
the student "Welcoming Committee" wearing our uniform
and holding our distinctive red brochure or flag. These
representatives will bring you to Vitznau, help you get
checked into the school and your room, and provide
refreshments. They will also help you make a free
three-minute telephone call to let your relatives know
that you have arrived safely.
During the first few days, the Welcoming Committee will
organize various events and activities to help you get
acquainted with the school, and settled into living in
the Luzern area.
But DCT's Support Services do not end there. For more
information, choose one of the links on the left side of
the page to see examples of what else happens at DCT –
even after you've finished your studies!
