3. Why should I do Hotel Management from Switzerland? What
are the specific advantages?
Switzerland is highly respected for its Hospitality Industry.
Hospitality education in Switzerland blends training in the
practice of a proud tradition with the study of contemporary
management principles. Since the students are trained 4-6 months
in some of the best Swiss hotels, they are ready to start their
career in fast track.
Most of the
schools are totally integrated into a Hotel and provides
students with a unique real-life environment. From our pas
experience, there is a huge demand for Swiss educated and
trained personnel all over the globe.
This is not the case with hotel management schools in other
countries. Often hospitality management degrees are offered at
the larger universities. These programs generally lack the
professional component and practical training. In other
countries one can find excellent hotel schools preparing
students to become chefs, headwaiters and rooms division
managers. Those schools lack the management and academic side.
4. Will I get paid for the Internship/Training program?
Yes. By law, Swiss employers are required to remunerate students
at prevailing industry training rates. The compensation varies
from Hotel to Hotel. The approximate gross salary per month is
from 2,050 to 2,450 Swiss Francs. Deductions for food,
accommodation, tax & insurance are about 1,000 Swiss Francs.
5. Can I do Internship overseas?
Some of the schools allow Internship overseas (outside
Switzerland). Please check with the school for more details on
this.
7. What are my career prospects after completion of the
course?
The modern economy offers a great variety of employment
possibilities. Students will not be limited to a career in the
classical hotel & tourism business. They will have the choice of
joining as
- Hotel Operations Manager
- Restaurant Manager
- International Finance
Manager

6. What
about placements?
Most of the schools in our network have an active placement
record. Although the same is not guaranteed to all, the
schools try their best to place them around the world. They
receive many job offers for its students from employers who
are seeking highly qualified staff. Leading International
companies regularly visit the campuses with the aim of
recruiting graduates.
7. Please clarify whether the fee mentioned is all
inclusive?
Most of the school fee is all inclusive (i.e tution fee,
boarding & lodging, uniforms, books etc). However, please
check with us for the structure of fee of different schools
as the fee structure can vary from school to school.
8. What is ASEH?
The Swiss
Hotel Schools Association (ASEH) was founded in 1986 with
the aim of protecting the good image of the existing,
traditional hotel schools. All these schools taught their
programs in German or French. It was only in 1980 that the first
English teaching schools opened their doors and challenged the
established schools. At present ASEH groups Switzerland's 12
leading hotel management schools, teaching their programs in
English, French and German.
Member Schools
include the official schools of the Swiss Hotel Association,
Gastrosuisse, and the Swiss Union of Hotel Employees. The
Association welcomes hotel management schools located in
Switzerland who meet and abide by the strict standards of
quality outlined in its bylaws.
To become a
member of ASEH, every school applying has to undergo very strict
procedures for accreditation. High quality educational and
professional standards are maintained, thereby ensuring an
exceptional education in the hotel trade for each of its
students.
