IHTTI students come from all corners of
the world and currently have 50 different nationalities
on the campus. The diverse cultural backgrounds
contribute to a multicultural exchange of customs and
traditions, and teach the students to fit easily into an
international team.
IHTTI is the school where the
individual counts. IHTTI take this slogan very
seriously and make sure to be true to the word. Their
personal size allows us to ensure that everyone knows
everyone else and so create an ideal environment for
successful study. The School also regularly organises
teambuilding events
The IHTTI students' committee "Aristos"
regularly organises various activities, excursions,
parties and other social events.
Aristos keeps students informed about various activities
and past-time events in and around Neuchâtel. There are
lots of festivals to visit such as the street musician,
the flower, or the wine festival.
Together with the classes they arrange traditional
theme nights (e.g. Indian nights, Chinese New Year),
parties, DVD evenings and ski trips.
Shopping
Good shopping can be done in the town centre as well as
in the shopping malls close by. Other good spots for
shopping are Bern, Lausanne and Geneva; accessible by
train in just an hour. To satisfy more discerning
fashion needs, the direct high-speed train to Paris
takes just four hours!
Culture
A number of interesting museums and art galleries can be
visited in town. The short trip to the Papilliorama
(Butterfly house) is also well worth it. Neuchâtel has a
theatre and also a number of cinemas, showing movies in
English. Various international cuisines can be enjoyed
in the many restaurants in the area.
Nightlife
The relaxed atmosphere in our in-house bar "Bar Hibou"
allows the students to unwind and mix with fellow
students while enjoying a drink, playing a game of
darts, exchanging the latest gossip and - at weekends -
deciding where to go out.
Being a university town, Neuchâtel has lots to offer
when it comes to nightlife. Clubs such as "feedback,
"b-fly" and "terra mitica" are places where students go
to dance the night away. Also famous for their nightlife
are Bern, Bienne or Lausanne. Even the world-famous
European Party Metropolis Zürich, famous for its "Street
Parade" and clubs, is only one and a half hour's train
ride away.
Sports
Situated by the lake and on the southern slope of the
Jura Mountains, the town and canton of Neuchâtel offer a
wide variety of sporting facilities such as: water
sports, skiing, snowboarding, tennis and golf and horse
riding. The school also provides cricket bats, soccer
balls, tennis rackets etc. A gym is situated just around
the corner.
Besides sporting a sandy beach, Neuchâtel also has an
indoor go-kart track, an ice skating rink, a curling
hall, indoor swimming pool and many other facilities.
Neuchâtel is a well known cross-country skiing resort
and also has some good down-hill slopes. The famous ski
resorts of Gstaad, Verbier and other ski areas in the
Valais and Bernese Oberland are easily reachable by
public transport, all in under 2 hours.
