DCT University Center was founded in 1991 and had its first intake of 20 international students in January of 1992. From this small beginning, the School has expanded its program offerings and grown to its present size. In this time, DCT has educated young men and women from over 45 different nations, with now over a thousand graduates who have received the valued DCT Diploma.

The school is located in the charming village of Vitznau, directly on the shores of the famous Lake Lucerne, just 20 Km from the city of Lucerne. The location of the School in this important tourism location is of enormous value to the students, because they can observe and experience in the city and its environs all the various hospitality business the lecturers discuss in their classes.

DCT courses combine operational and theoretical studies and are modular in nature, which provides for an excellent all-round hospitality education and continued personal development. All courses are taught in English in small class settings, allowing for maximum interaction between students and faculty. Programs build up toward Bachelor or Master Degrees and offer students the best possible education available today, as well as a stepping stone to further educational opportunities in the future.

There is a possibility to earn a "DOUBLE DIPLOMA" : a Swiss hotel management Advanced Diploma and an American Bachelor's Degree through one of DCT educational partners, such as the University of Massachusetts or Florida International University. Also ample opportunity to gain paid industry training and working experience in a Swiss hospitality business. Assistance is also offered for job placement by the placement office.
